The Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation
The seeds for starting the Kappa Foundation were planted long before it was incorporated as an official entity in 1990. The Loyalty Fund began in 1976 as a way for Kappas to contribute to the General Operating Fund of the Fraternity. In 1988, the Adelphe Campaign was announced at Convention as a way to establish permanent funding for the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation. The goal was to raise funds for an endowment by 1990.
Both the Loyalty Fund and the Adelphe Campaign inspired discussions about creating a corporation that would be available for members to make tax-deductible contributions to the Fraternity — making it possible for Kappas to support Kappas.
By summer 1990, the Adelphe Campaign raised over $1.5 million. The Fraternity's and Foundation's funds were separated with all philanthropic giving directed to the new Foundation.
Today, the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation invests in educational programming for members, provides scholarships and aid, and helps to preserve the Fraternity’s archives and history.
